Who we are
MSK Advisory ("we", "us") provides online accounting services and the MSK Advisory member desk at mskadvisory.co.uk. MSK Advisory Limited is the data controller. Registered office and company number: to follow upon incorporation. Contact: hello@mskadvisory.co.uk.
What we collect
- Account information — your name, email address and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).
- Business records you give us — bookkeeping entries, invoices, payslips, uploaded documents such as bank statements and receipts, and your answers about your business (industry, structure, VAT status, payment methods).
- Service information — your membership tier, when you last used the desk, and support requests you send us.
- Payments — handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Why we use it (lawful bases)
- To provide accounting services and operate your desk — performance of our contract with you.
- To meet our legal duties as an accountancy provider, including anti-money-laundering checks and record-keeping — legal obligation.
- To respond to requests, improve the service and keep it secure — legitimate interests.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of trusted processors: Cloudflare (hosting and security), Supabase (accounts and encrypted data storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (service emails) and Anthropic (AI features such as the desk coach, which receives only summarised business figures needed to answer your question). Freelance chartered accountants engaged by MSK Advisory can access only the specific businesses we assign to them. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
Accounting records are kept for at least six years after the relevant tax year, as HMRC requires. Account information is kept while your account is active and removed on verified request afterwards, subject to those legal retention duties.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict processing, and take your data elsewhere (your desk includes one-click export). To exercise any right, email hello@mskadvisory.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and local storage
We do not run advertising or tracking cookies. The site uses your browser's local storage strictly to operate the member desk (keeping you signed in and, in demo mode, holding your data on your own device).
Security
Data in the live service is protected with encrypted connections, row-level security (each business can only ever reach its own records) and role-based access for MSK Advisory staff. Report any concern to hello@mskadvisory.co.uk.
